Grabbing

Newborn- the baby starts to grab objects. A baby is born with the grasping reflex. one example is when i would hold my pointer finger out my little newborn cousin would grap it with her hand.

Three Months- A baby can bat at toys and has sstarted to develop hand eye coordination. one example is my little cousin use to have this little toy with buttons and instead of pressing them she would bat or hit at them.

Four Months- a baby is now able to pick up large objects but still is not able to grap large objects because they haven't developed full finger dexterity. one example is when my cousins were little they would play with blocks of different shapes and they could hold on to them.

Nine to Twelve Months- now a baby has full finger dexterity and can pick objest up with litle or no effort. now you will be able to tell if a baby is left or right handed. now a baby can use the pincer grasp. one example is the little boy i babysit picks up his cherrios with his thumb and pointer finger with no problem but another bay i babysit has to pick up a cherrio with his whole hand and he has alot of effort. the diiference is one has pincer grasp and another doesn't have pincer grasp.
